Learn about my professional milestones, the experiences that shaped my approach to design, and personal story.
I'm Jianxuan Xu, a dedicated product designer sculpting innovation. My design odyssey began with an early admiration for the elegance of functionality and form, propelling me to delve deep into the diverse landscapes of product creation.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with renowned companies like Alibaba, Microsoft, Bosch, and VMLY&R. Currently, I continue to enrich my design skills and thinking at University of Michigan.
When not engrossed in crafting designs, I embrace the freedom of cycling. I ride all manner of bikes, from endurance models to road bikes, spending my weekends exploring the city. I also have a soft spot for Rapha, a UK bicycle lifestyle brand.
In my leisure time, I am drawn to art exhibitions and design magazines. Modern art holds a special place in my heart, especially the architecture of the Bauhaus period. The chair designed by Corbusier is on my list of art pieces to collect.
Coffee is another essential part of my life. I consider myself an amateur barista, relishing the floral, fruit, and rich overtones that linger on the palate.
Photography is a significant aspect of my existence. I particularly adore the "physical" collection of films that film photography offers. My latest film camera is a 35ti from Nikon, a portable gem with a mechanical pointer meter from Seiko, a beautiful collision of traditional and modern design.
